3 Smart Hacks to Make Your Shoes Super Comfortable

work shoes, safety shoes
Premium work shoes are made to be super safe and comfortable, but there are millions of feet out there and making shoes to fit every one of them is a task that is almost unattainable. Manufactures work on the principle of averages. The design process collects data of as many feet they possibly can and then draw averages for their product sizes. By doing this they manage to make shoes that fit well for the majority of wearers, but if you have one of those few special feet sizes that don’t meet averages and deserve some personalization, here are a few tips that will make your shoes all the more comfortable.  We will also share tips on how to make your professional safety shoes last long and give you great returns on your investment. Let’s get started.

1.    Sandpaper The Soles For Better Traction
The first thing you need to do with a brand new pair of shoes is to check the soles. Actually, you should check the sole of your safety shoes before buying it particularly if you intend to use it a hazardous work environment. Some soles have a rather smooth surface that may lack the traction you need on wet or oily surfaces. Now safety shoe soles are made with special materials and they use a special pattern that add qualities like anti-slip, anti-skid to the product making them perfect for use no matter what surface you are on. Sandpapering is a good way of adding roughness to smooth under-surfaces. Do not use knives or other cutting tools to add patterns or cuts because it will damage other properties of your shoes.

2.    Keep Smell Away With Tea Bags
Bad smell coming from your shoe will make your uncomfortable. Ventilation in safety shoes allow your feet to breathe, but if you neglect proper shoe care and leave the shoe wet for long then you will notice unpleasant smells which is bad for your feet and will surely hurt your pride if someone happens to point it out! Deal with smelly shoes simply by placing new tea bags in your shoes and that will get rid of all the odours and rejuvenate your safety shoes. Do remember that this is not a permanent way of dealing with smelly shoes. You must take care not to keep them wet for very long hours or days. Use good quality cotton socks and clean the insides with shoe cleaning products.

3.    Reinforced Heel Lining
Eroded heel lining is rough on the heels and causes pain when you use it for long hours every day. High quality safety work shoes have very good heel lining that will not wear out even after many months of rough use. In case your shoes don’t have it you can add it by taking it to the cobbler and attaching patches of old denim (jeans) lying around in your home. Unless it is done properly, the new heel lining will come apart. Get it done by a professional.

Your shoes will be comfortable if you take care of it. We hope these tips will make your work shoes very comfortable.
